Introducing Kru Yai Arash and Poo Choi Kru Andy as the two were officially appointed their new status

On December 14, 2025, the Muay Thai community gathered for an afternoon at the Thai National Day End of Year Banquet & Awards Ceremony. Hosted by Ajahn Suchart and Muay Thai Ontario (MTO), the annual event honoured the successes of fighters, coaches, and gyms who shaped the 2025 year, while also reinforcing the deeper values that make Muay Thai more than just a sport.

This year's banquet carried added significance, doubling as a fundraiser with a portion of proceeds dedicated to Philippines Typhoon Relief Funds; demonstrating MTO's embodiment of Muay Thai's longstanding values of compassion, solidarity, and responsibility.

Throughout the afternoon, Ajahn Suchart spoke powerfully about the importance of staying true to the core cultural practices of Muay Thai, emphasizing that tradition and community are the backbone of the art. Speeches highlighted the responsibility of the current practitioners and leaders to support the future of Muay Thai in Ontario and across Canada, with a strong focus on developing the Canadian National Team and investing in youth athletes. Central to Ajahn Suchart's message was the belief that Muay Thai training builds far more than physical strength but it also fosters discipline, resilience, and respect that people take into their daily lives.

A deeply meaningful portion of the ceremony was the formal recognition of new rankings. In a cultural ritual rooted in tradition, Ajahn blessed the mongkons and prajiouds and personally acknowledged each individual's achievement, underscoring the honour and responsibility that comes with progression in Muay Thai.

Among those recognized were Kingdom Muay Thai's own newly appointed Kru Yai Arash and Poo Choi Kru Andy in a moment of immense pride for the gym. Their recognition reflects Kingdom Muay Thai's continued dedication to teaching authentic Muay Thai, instilling cultural values, supporting long-term student & fighter development, and nurturing the next generation of practitioners.

The evening concluded with awards presented to outstanding fighters and gyms, celebrating excellence, perseverance, and contribution to the broader Muay Thai community. The event served as a reminder of what binds this community together: respect for tradition, commitment to growth, and a collective support for one another.
