Kingdom Muay Thai's Blessing Ceremony Marks a Meaningful Milestone in the Gym's History

On November 19, 2025, Kingdom Muay Thai marked a meaningful milestone with a traditional gym blessing ceremony. A Muay Thai gym blessing is deeply rooted in Muay Thai cultural heritage and serves as a spiritual cleansing of the space, inviting protection, prosperity, and harmony for everyone who trains within it.

In Muay Thai culture, blessings are typically conducted by respected community figures to honour lineage and ensure safety for students and fighters. These ceremonies often include offerings and blessings to bring luck and protection to the gym. 

Kingdom Muay Thai’s ceremony was led by Ajahn Suchart, whose presence brought a deep sense of authenticity and reverence to the evening. As the sun set, students, guests, and community members gathered inside the gym, welcomed by a small altar arranged with flowers, fruit, incense, fruit juice, and candles as a part of the offering. The atmosphere felt both sacred and intimate.

As Ajahn Suchart began leading the blessing, the room settled into a collective stillness as he delivered a speech on the importance of community and staying true to the cultural heritage of Thailand. 

Before the formal blessing began, the evening opened with a traditional Wai Kru performed by Kru Yai Arash and a Ram Muay by Kru Ozwaldo. Their performances paid homage to Muay Thai’s roots, honouring teachers both past and present, and showcasing the discipline, grace, and respect that form the heart of the art. PC Kru Hamed, PC Kru Nima, and PC Kru Vince were also blessed alongside Kru Yai Arash. Each recognized for their dedication and contribution to the gym community. 

During the ceremony, Kru Angie delivered a thoughtful and heartfelt speech that highlighted Ajahn Suchart’s unwavering dedication to the community and spoke to the strength of character and leadership embodied by Kru Yai Arash. Her words reflected the deep respect and gratitude shared within the gym; recognizing the guidance, discipline, and compassion both figures bring to Kingdom Muay Thai and the Muay Thai community as a whole. As a symbolic gesture, she gifted Kru Yai Arash a basil plant representing growth, grounding, and the flourishing path he continues to cultivate for students. 

The gym also honoured Ajahn, presenting him with the “keys to the Kingdom,” a meaningful token symbolizing his role as a guiding father figure, along with a selection of Persian goodies as a nod to the gym’s cultural roots and shared appreciation.

The evening concluded with light refreshments and food, giving the community space to connect and celebrate the significance of the evening. Many expressed gratitude for being part of a ceremony that not only honoured Muay Thai tradition but also strengthened the sense of belonging within Kingdom Muay Thai.

The blessing marked a new chapter for the gym; one rooted in respect, intention, and the shared belief in creating a space where everyone can train, grow, and feel supported.
