On March 8th, 2025, the most powerful women in the world gathered at Kingdom to celebrate International Women’s Day! Yes, I can call us, the women of Kingdom, the most powerful women on earth, because ChatGPT’s selection criteria didn’t include training in Muay Thai!! So, you can follow my reasoning?
We celebrated by having an all-women’s seminar that included dancing, fitness, Muay Thai/Boxing, more dancing, self-defense, yoga, and breathwork. The energy the participants brought to Kingdom was phenomenal! I was very much one of the participants, only leading the yoga section of the seminar.
Forough Hashemi (NPC Bikini Gold Medalist) kicked off the event with 30 minutes of cardio and fitness. During her cardio session, I was 90% mesmerized by Forough’s style, beautiful and flawless muscle tone, and her cheerful smile. My remaining 10% was bouncing off the walls to the rhythm. I think BOB Behrouz and BOB Babak were a little surprised, as they thought our hips could only swing for kicks.
The Muay Thai section was led by PC Kru Aanchal Vashistha and Coach Amira Moradi. Aanchal, one of the top 10 Indian Women Leaders in Canada, explained the basics, starting with the fight stance and when she finished explaining, even the BOBs whispered “khap.” Amira is the beloved Kingdom Queen, identifying as She/Her, and is the preferred coach for many of the women at Kingdom. Amira assisted Aanchal in running the Muay Thai section of the seminar but mostly stole all the attention just by being Amira and embracing her gentle soul.
Tiana Osborne (Krav Maga Red Belt) ran the self-defense section of the seminar. Tiana is the double chocolate cookie with chili flakes. Forget that no man has ever survived Tiana’s groin kick, when Tiana needs assistance to demonstrate palm strikes, Nak Muays fake injuries and look away.
The seminar ended with some breathwork by Shannon Flynn (Certified Breathwork Practitioner). In Shannon’s words, “There is something incredible about the energy of a community moving as one, finding presence in each inhale and exhale.” In my words, we just had to do breathwork to help calm down all the participants. It would have been irresponsible to send them home while they were still throwing knees and groin kicks.
The seminar was amazing, and more than anything, it brought some of the women in the community together. Elizabeth from LCKmedia joined us and took amazing pictures. The participants brought their best vibes and left with the biggest smiles. The seminar was the perfect way to celebrate International Women’s Day!
As for BOB Behrouz and BOB Babak, I think they’ll request to be put away for the next all-female event, and I think Kru Arash will honor their request.
